What’s on my Vanity: Monday Edition
I returned today from an extended weekend with my family in Oregon. It was wonderful to spend time with them. The moment I came home I began the process of unpacking; tucking away toiletries, shoes, accessories and of course, moving our worn clothes into the wash.
All mundane, mindless work really. And in this mode of tidying and puttering I realized how grateful I was to be home. To have my pups sleeping happily in their respective spots, hubby doing his thing and our home warmly embracing us with our return.
Life is good…
As I prepared my vanity for the week (oh how I missed my good lighting these past few days!), I quietly gave thanks for every beautiful item I’m so lucky to possess and carefully placed each one in it’s featured spot for the week…
There’s nothing about this Too Faced French & Fabulous palette that doesn’t make me giddy. It’s from the 2009 holiday collection but you can still find it on ebay, and other places. Hubby calls this bold silver necklace my “olympic” piece because of the five circles…he’s a comedian!
Have you sampled Tom Ford’s new fragrance, Violet Blonde? I am hooked!
I’ve been wanting to try the Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place cream shadows. These are brand spanking new so I’m anxious to see how they perform. And, if you’ve never tried Tarte blushes give them a go. The shades never disappoint.
I’ve been very impressed with the Anastasia line and this palette is no exception. The open jar is a loose pigment from Inglot…it is an incredible shade, #85.
I couldn’t resist showing you a close up of the Inglot duochrome (a dark plumy brown with flashes of green and blue) pigment…agh!!
Rock & Republic is more than just pretty packaging (honestly, it’s some of the most beautiful packaging around). It’s not as easy to get your hands on as it once was but if you have the chance to pick up blushes from the line I encourage you to do so. This is a shot of Immoral which looks super bright (well, it is) but goes on beautifully (light hand required).
It’s not glamorous, but with the colder weather my eyes have been super dry. Refresh natural tears to the rescue! Oh, and these are Deborah Lippmann polishes, Purple Rain and Believe (which was created in collaboration with Cher…gotta love that!).
Whether drugstore, mid-range, high end makeup or a mix of all, each item puts a smile on my face and brings me joy. I know makeup won’t solve the world’s problems but they sure can make my troubles disappear – if only for a brief moment – and offer me a reason to remember to give thanks…

You have a gorgeous vanity! did you have to drill the table to attach your mirror to the table top?
Hi May!
No. I just set the mirror on top of the vanity. Glad I didn’t have to do anything more complicated. Lol!
