What’s on My Vanity
Around this time of year I undergo a purging. It’s a cleansing really of all the accessories, clothes and shoes that I haven’t worn in the past six months. While I was rummaging through my jewelry box, I came across a bold multi stone necklace my husband gave me years ago, that although I haven’t worn in a while, I can’t bear to part with.
As I was handling it I remembered the day my husband brought it home – it was a very sweet and pleasant surprise – and it brought a smile to my face. I also remembered the time I wore it to a conference. A woman I had only interacted with casually online told me, as she sized me up and down with her eyes, that she didn’t expect me to be so…flashy.
Flashy?!? Did she really just say that?! Once the sting of having such a brazen statement slung at me wore off, I realized she was right. I am not conservative. I do not play it safe. And I rarely color inside the lines. Yup. I’m flashy, and I’m a-ok wearing that label. 
I am out of control loving the new Revlon Colorstay shadow quads. When I saw this springy quad of blues and greens, I nearly passed out!
Don’t laugh but because I rarely use the brushes that come with compacts and palettes, I rarely bother to remove them from their plastic wrapper as is evident by the Dior bronzer brush in this photo.
It’s not until this very moment that I realized I have a blue/green/gray theme going on this week…
Over the holidays I watched the movie, Family Stone (I highly recommend it). There’s a scene where the free-spirited brother played by Luke Wilson tells Sara Jessica Parkers very tightly wound character ”you have a freak flag. you just don’t fly it.” Well I say we all possess a touch of flash (whether you enjoy artistic nails, bold jewelry or colorful lips) so this week, let your flashy flag fly!

Yayyyy for flashy…in moderation though. I’ve seen some women on YT who “flash” every part of their bodies. Eeeeep! ( Trust me, I LOVE flash). I really love flashy nail polish. I didn’t know the ColorStay quads were good. Did I miss your review? Excellent choice of color btw

I’ve never been one to flash much skin..believe me, my accessories are enough! I’m a graduate of the *keep it flashy and classy* school of thought. Lol! I haven’t reviewed the Colorstay quad but it’s coming up – by middle of next week for sure.
