Recently, I started cleaning up my act in the food department.  My life now consists of green smoothies (I adore!), fresh organic fruit and loads of vegetables.

And while I’m feeling better now at 47 than I did in my 20’s I do miss one thing…cake!

There’s nothing about cake I don’t love.  From their versatile nature (short ones, tall ones, full ones, skinny ones) to the array of toppings….they are delicious works of art.

Insert napkin break…my mouth is watering ;-)

I won’t fib, when I noticed the MAC Me Over collection offered a Shadestick called Cakeshop my taste buds were the first to notice.  Sad?  Yes, even I have to agree.

After my initial pavlovian response, I fell head over heels with the color.

Cakeshop is described by MAC as a frosted pewter.  In reality, it’s more unique than that because while there is a detectable frosted pewter hue there is also a slight green tinge to it.

Like most Shadesticks, Cakeshop is creamy, and glides on easily (a very dense synthetic brush will work but I find fingers your best tool with this product).  You can use this sumptuous Shadestick as an all over lid color or as an eyeshadow base.  The other day, I used Cakeshop as a lower lash liner along with the muted green grey shadow from the Lady Grey quad – it doesn’t  get better than that folks!

I don’t own a shadow in a color quite like this.

I’m delighted with this Shadestick and will be picking up another in Street Cool (a violet taupe with grey).

Isn’t it nice to know that we can have our cake and eat apply it too…

What about you?  Are you a fan of stick cream shadows or do you prefer the potted form?

Availability: MAC stores, MAC counters and maccosmetics.com (Cakeshop is a limited edition shade)

Price: $17.50, 0.05 oz

4/5 Smooches: Cakeshop smoothie anyone?

More Thoughts on the MAC Me Over collection:
