Did you see Deborah Lippmann launched new neon polishes called Run the World (Girls)?  It’s a pretty take on the neon trend that is fresh, feminine and edgy all at the same time.  The set of five mini-sized polishes with a demi-matte neon finish include:

I Kissed a Girl – a poppin’ pink
It Girl – a yellin’ yellow
Hollaback Girl – an outrageous orange
Nasty Girl – a flaming fuchsia
Party Girl – a sassy salmon

I adore the pop song names Deborah gave the polishes – makes wearing neon so fun!  And of course, I’m partial to the flaming fuchsia and It Girl yellow.  But, since they come in a set of five, I can run with all shades (it’s recommended you wear one shade on each finger but I’m a traditionalist…one polish color at a time).

Availability: Neiman Marcus, lippmanncollection.com

Price: $45/US, 5 bottles at .27 oz

Each year for the past 17 years, Vanity Fair features some of Hollywood’s brightest stars on it’s fold out cover.  The covers for this special edition are always beautifully styled and designed.  For the March 2012 issue 11 young actresses were transformed into screen sirens thanks to the help of makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, hair stylings by Oribe and nails by Deborah Lippmann.

The Art Deco theme inspired cover is quite possibly one of my favorites with the stunning setting and pastel hues – I always sit up and pay close attention to details when an art deco theme is even hinted at.

Today’s post is all about the nails featured on the cover!  Here’s a listing of the neutral polish shades Deborah used on each of the stars:

•Rooney Mara – Whatever Lola Wants (fingers and toes)

•Jennifer Lawrence – Bring on the Bling (fingers and toes)

•Mia Wasikowska – Naked (fingers and toes)

•Jessica Chastain – Naked on fingers, Glamorous Life on toes

•Elizabeth Olsen - Baby Love with Bring on the Bling layered on both fingers and toes

•Adepero Oduye – Naked (fingers and toes)

•Shailene Woodley – Baby Love on fingers and Prelude to a Kiss with Baby Love on toes

•Paula Patten – Naked (fingers and toes)

•Felicity Jones - Baby Love (fingers and toes)

•Lily Collins – Naked (fingers and toes)

•Brit Marling – Fashion with Naked on fingers and Diamonds & Pearls on toes

I’m usually a one nail color at a time kind of gal but I’m inspired to layer polish shades as Deborah has done on these Hollywood beauties.

If you haven’t picked up this collectors issue (the 18th edition) I sure hope you do because it also features a rare interview with the infamous blond bombshell Brigitte Bardot – the photos included are glorious to pore through!

What special plans do you have this Saturday?  My plans unexpectedly changed but I’m in good spirits since it’s shining like it’s Spring!

By now you’ve probably heard about the Versace and H&M collaboration.  If you haven’t you can check out the complete collection look book here.

I’m always fascinated by behind-the-scenes fashion show details; makeup artist secrets, tools used, color stories, etc.  So when I heard that Donatella Versace tapped Deborah Lippmann to choose a polish shade for her H&M collection debut that complimented her long, straight haired models and signature Versace prints, I was intrigued.

Deborah Lippmann chose a polish that fit the Versace bill, Dark Side of the Moon.  This is a mysterious, vampy aubergine polish that was used on both hands (nails were shaped rounder and kept long for a feminine nail look) and toes.

Are you even a little curious about the Versace for H&M collection?  There are a few things on my “take a look” list but I’ll have to see them (and feel the fabrics, etc) before I decide on how much excitement to muster.
