Well, she finally arrived and I couldn’t be more thrilled with Le Distinguée – a peach/pink (she’s more peach than pink) beauty!  If you’ve read any of my Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet reviews you know I adore this formulation.  It’s a smooth matte that feels like silk gliding along my lips and wears like she knows what she’s doing!

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet, Le Distinguée

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet, Le Distinguée.  By far this is the best matte formulation I’ve tried because it doesn’t feel like a matte lipstick!  I find myself looking in the mirror to make sure I still have “lips” on.  Rouge Allure Velvet feels so lightweight you hardly notice you have anything on your lips.  It feels like the smoothest balm and is quite hydrating.  I wouldn’t normally wear a matte lipstick in warm months but this one is light as air and is peach perfection! (swatched on bare Chanel B20 skin.  photo taken indoors).

During summer months, I prefer light fabrics and light feeling makeup.  That’s why I prefer to wear glossy finish lipsticks versus a heavier finish like that of a matte.  But when I heard Chanel had a new online exclusive (limited edition) Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick I immediately placed my order!

Unlike many matte lipsticks that feel drying, look heavy and sometimes cake on the lips, I find the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet formulation to feel silky smooth, surprisingly hydrating, light in texture, yet gives me an opaque full color pout!

As soon as I receive the new shade, La Distinguée – described as a peach-pink – I’ll be sure to share photos and swatches with you.  In the meantime, do you wear matte lipsticks in the summer or do you prefer a sheer, light finish on lips?

If you read my last sneak peek for the Chanel holiday collection you might start thinking I’m on a Chanel binge…well, you wouldn’t be entirely wrong but it’s truly not my fault.  I mean, what’s a gal to do when Chanel releases launch after glorious launch?

My Chanel counter manager (I’m sort of possessive about the brand and the staff it seems) shared a few details from the upcoming launch of a new lipstick range.  And, if you’ve been reading my beauty black book for any length of time you probably know that lipstick is my weakness.

The Rouge Allure family is launching Velvet ($32).  A matte formulation made with ultra thin pearl pigments give Rouge Allure Velvet a light velvety finish enriched with jojoba oil making it not only beautiful color but moisturizing as well.  Love that combo!

You’ll see from the sheet below that we can expect eight Rouge Allure Velvet shades organized in four categories; beige, rose, red and brown.

Joining the Rouge Allure Velvet party are three new nail polishes ($25) and a limited edition matte top coat ($25) – I have a sneaking suspicion that Exuberant Rose 519 (an intense pink) will be making it’s way into a Chanel bag with my name on it ;-)

The line of lipsticks and polishes are due to hit counters on or about October 17th.  Will you be swatching anything for yourself?
