How’s your holiday shopping going? Are you nearly done? I thought it might be too late in the game to share my thoughts on one of the holiday limited edition palettes from Tarte but it is SO good I thought I’d tell you about it anyway.
I’ve had this palette for some time now – I know, shame on me for not telling you about it sooner – and I’ve loved everything about this one!
The Tarte Puttin on the Glitz palette is unique because it features three interchangeable palettes (Girls Night Out, Nine to Five and Walk in the Park) that include a total of eighteen eyeshadows, a highlight powder, bronzer and blush – one face product per palette (and when you find out the price it’s going to blow your mind!).
Each of the three palettes are housed in a metallic faux python “wallet.”
The palettes snap easily into a bigger metallic faux python zippered carrying case.
The zippered case looks like this once a palette is inserted. It includes a place for credit cards and a small mirror.
This is the Girls Night Out palette snapped into the zippered case.
On their own, the palettes are out of this world good. But when you add that they’re housed in a festive metallic faux python case which you can then pop into a metallic zip up carrying case (complete with chain link shoulder strap and a place to insert credit cards) it makes a pretty spiffy gift.
Tarte shadows are extraordinary. Shadows are well saturated, pigmented, wear beautifully and blend (and layer) very well. The face products (bronzer, highlighter and blush) are equally stellar. As far as reviews go, I have nothing bad to say about the Puttin on the Glitz collection
The Girls Night Out palette includes a shimmering highlight powder.
Girls Night Out swatches. The textures are amazing however, the more glittery shades were less pigmented (but only by a tad) and had a small amount of fall out. I don’t find myself wearing these shades as often (the fifth – a mauve/taupe – and sixth shades however are spectacular!) as the others but it’s still a wonderful palette..
The highlight shade in the Girls Night Out palette is on the far right, a pretty yellowed champagne. The texture is gorgeous and it leaves a soft highlight (and a soft shimmer with no glitter) to cheeks or as a brow highlighter.
The Nine to Five palette. I keep reaching for this one again and again!
The Nine to Five palette includes the prettiest pink-peach Amazonian clay blush. Adore!
There is nothing but glorious rich color and texture with the Nine to Five palette (that’s the blush blended out on the far right). I’ve created multiple looks with this one and I don’t think I’m done either.
This palette includes the ever popular Park Avenue Princes bronzer!
My second favorite palette from the collection, Walk in the Park is a pretty neutral palette with intense color saturation and a mix of textures..
Also included is click-pen lipgloss. The minty flavor leaves a slight tingle to the lips (no plumping effect that I could detect) and a soft, non-sticky neutral rose shade.
For the price, you can’t beat this palette! Even if you’re not a fan of the zippered carry case (I like it fine but probably won’t use it much) the palettes themselves are an exceptional and beautiful buy.
Availability: Ulta (limited edition)
Price: $48US (amazing, right?!)
4/5 Smooches: I’m loving the old Hollywood vibe and the color palettes…fantastic!
I’m nearly done with my shopping and should pick up my last few items today but just discovered a Helen Mirren series (a short one) called Painted Lady. With a name like Painted Lady, you know my beauty blogger curiosity was peaked.
